KUNSTSURFER - exhibition launch, presentation & live surfing session
opening of Soft Narratives & surfing session with artist Maya Man
About the event
/rosa is pleased to host a special event in collaboration with KUNSTSURFER and panke.gallery: Join us for the opening of a new KUNSTSURFER exhibition "Soft Narratives" accompanied by a live surfing session with artist Maya Man followed by a presentation of the KUNSTSURFER project on Thursday, May 4 at 19:00 in our space on Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin Mitte.
This evening will showcase the KUNSTSURFER project, a collective and browser-based art space from Zurich, and introduce its newest exhibition “Soft Narratives” accompanied by a live surfing session with artist Maya Man and Robert Sakrowski, curator of panke.gallery.
"Soft Narratives" features works by Molly Soda, Maya Man (in collaboration with Ann Hirsch) and Chia Amisola - three artists who use the Internet to develop their sensitive and multimodal narratives. The exhibition also reads the selected works as examples of a new generation of net artists.
KUNSTSURFER presents exhibitions that run on a browser add-on which recognises advertisements and replaces them with digital artworks. KUNSTSURFER aims to bring art into your daily browsing. It plays with the ways online advertisements look and work and takes over commercial space to host experimental, digital site-specific curatorial and artistic projects.
The event will be the perfect opportunity to experience net based art in the browser, its ‘natural habitat’, as well as in a casual environment together with other netart enthusiasts on site in Berlin.
Don't forget to mark your calendar for May 4th at 7 pm at /rosa in Berlin. We look forward to seeing you there!
