Artist Talk by Mario Santamaria
Thursday, 28 April 2022 7pm

We are very happy to have artist Mario Santamaria give a talk at /rosa on 28 April at 7 pm. Mario Santamaria's practice engages with narratives told about technologies and the manifestations of networks that are often claimed to be disembodied and ephemeral.

His 2019 work Cloudplexity - a series of drawings made to represent the Internet extracted from the U.S. Patent database - has just recently been on display at C/O in Berlin. At /rosa Santamaria will talk about his practice and introduce us to some of his new and lesser known works.

Come join us for the talk and drinks on Thursday, 28 April, 7 pm at /rosa, Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße 35, 10178 Berlin.

"Cleaning My Desktop" by Molly Soda
Opening Thursday, 10 March 2022 6pm – 10pm
10 March – 09 April 2022

Cleaning my Desktop screenshot

In Cleaning My Desktop, Molly Soda blends her body onto her computer desktop. The screen overflows with files and images that are piled up in layers covering the whole background. While the files are being organized and sorted into labeled folders, the figure of the artist treats the desktop as a physical space.

Molly Soda was born in 1989 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. She received her B.F.A in Photography and Imaging from Tisch School of Arts, New York University in 2011. She uses different social media to produce and host her work, allowing it to interact with the platforms themselves. She is interested in Internet archival practices, often using her own image and figure as an online character.
