About the event

communication gives rise to relationships. first one-to-one, then one-to-many, and, on the internet, many-to-many or everyone-to-everyone. identity is thus no longer defined individually but created through the relationship of the individual to the many. the internet makes possible alliances that were inconceivable before the rise of networked communities. it offers alternatives for people who want to free themselves of traditional classifications such as birth, nationality, and gender. at the same time, it raises the question of whether the transformations of net culture and the rise of social media represent a new foundation for real social networks or whether it portends their end. cornelia sollfrank and omsk social club design net activities that combine the artistic with the cultural and political and transmute them into new forms.

Curatorial practice in times of post social media.
In this workshop we will look into different models of curatorial practice around art online, net.art & art on the internet. Visitors are invited to discuss a wide range of approaches from online exhibitions, to Speed Shows to latest concepts like gallery.delivery. What is the status of art on the internet? How do artists and institutions cope with the fading presence of the web? What to do with the ever growing hell of likes with no links to the web? Let's discuss ideas and concepts! What's your idea for curating a show?
