About the exhibition

exhibition: 29. August - 14. September 2021
workshops: 05. June - 25. August 2021 (admission closed)

openAR brings together digital culture experts with a diverse group of 12 AR-beginners who are interested in learning to work with augmented reality and experimenting with it in an artistic context. In the course of the project there will be workshops educating participants on the technological background, culture and history of digital art, particularly AR, as well as teaching them to create AR works themselves. At the same time, experts and participants will jointly discuss possible formats for a platform to present, collect and archive AR works. The objective of the project is to create an exhibition both at panke.gallery and on the collectively conceptualized online platform.

Talks by the workshop supervisors Jeremy Bailey (https://www.jeremybailey.net), Sarah Buser (https://sarahbuser.com) and Tamás Páll (https://tamaspall.com) as well as keynote speeches by Ela Kagel (https://supermarkt-berlin.net) and Vincent Van Uffelen (https://vincentvanuffelen.com) will be live streamed to the public on the panke.gallery website and twitch stream: https://www.panke.gallery/streaming
